Registration, fees & policies

How to register
Online through the archdiocesan STS portal: choose a date and site, pay, and name up to two Archdiocese of Detroit high schools to receive scores. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Central two days before each date. Accommodation documentation is due to the test site two weeks before the test. source

Retake policy
Students may take the HSPT one time. A student who misses a date can move the registration to another date. source
How scores are used
Each school evaluates scores its own way. Marian uses the HSPT for standard versus honors placement; De La Salle for admission, placement, and scholarships. Loyola High School and Our Lady of the Lakes do not require it. source
Scholarships
De La Salle Collegiate publishes HSPT tiers: 97th to 99th percentile up to $8,000 a year, down to 80th to 83rd percentile up to $3,000. Marian requires testing in November or December for scholarship eligibility. source
Score reporting
STS emails results to the parent address given at registration about three to four weeks after the test. Scores go to the two schools chosen at registration; forwarding to another school is requested through the test site. source

Common questions

When is the HSPT in the Archdiocese of Detroit?

Saturday, November 7, November 21, or December 5, 2026, at more than twenty Catholic high schools. Register on the archdiocesan STS portal and pick the date and site.

Does the Detroit HSPT include the Science section?

Some sites give it and some do not. Everest Collegiate and De La Salle include Science; Detroit Catholic Central, Mercy, and Shrine do not.
