Registration, fees & policies

How to register
Register with the school administering the test. Five Seattle-area Catholic high schools require no entrance exam at all: Archbishop Murphy, Cristo Rey Jesuit, Kennedy Catholic, O'Dea, and St. Monica. Applications at most schools are due January 5, 2027. source

How scores are used
Seattle Prep uses the HSPT mainly for class placement and treats it as a small part of a holistic review. Bishop Blanchet uses it for English, math, and science placement. Holy Names uses it as a scholarship and placement exam. source
Scholarships
Holy Names Academy students who complete the HSPT are eligible for merit scholarships. source
Score reporting
Bishop Blanchet families receive results by email from the testing company a few weeks after the test. source

Common questions

When is the HSPT in Seattle?

Each school sets its own weekend. Eastside Catholic tests November 7, Bishop Blanchet November 14 and 15, Seattle Prep December 5 and 6, and Holy Names December 12 and 13, 2026. Several Seattle Catholic high schools require no exam.
